  		20th Reunion of 100th Regiment, Illinois Infantry 1904 This ribbon was one of the keepsakes in Carrie Parker Simmons' bible. It is a ribbon to honor her father, Thomas Packard Parker, who served in this regiment during the Civil War and died in the Battle of Chickamauga in 1863.

• Notes

  I have the original marriage certificate of Electa Barney and Thomas P. Parker that took place on 12 Oct 1854, in DuPage, IL. Witnesses were Hugh Stewart, Charles Welch, and Helen M. Barney. In 1863, Thomas P. Parker died fighting in the Battle of Chickamauga, in Georgia, during the U.S. Civil War. Thomas served as a medical assistant for the 100th Regiment of the Illinois Infantry. I discovered a Civil War photo of him, and I have tintype of him (with note written on back by Carrie that says “My Father.”) You can definitely see the resemblance in my tintype and the Civil War image. Thomas Parker’s mother, Belinda Ingersoll, was widowed at a relatively young age – her first husband Silas died at age 42. Belinda remarried Rollin C. Marshall; I have tintype of Belinda that has notes on the back, “Grandma Parker Marshall.”
